Scandels, sex, and entertainment. Just like the Roman's Coliseum. Keep the masses "happy" and do whatever you want. "He who has the gold makes the rules" and "Nice guys finish last" are still truisms. Worse yet, because of the long cycle of corruption, cynicism and despair. --Most (70+%) people do NOT vote! (Why, "why bother", both sides are corrupt, the system doesn't work, why waist the time) --Clinton's Purgery, affair(s),etc.. (Who cares, ALL politicians lie, if the economy's good (ie: I'm Ok), he could be a convicted pedophile and stay in office. --Insurance company's "skimming" scam with 401k & pensions (we Save 30% on tax, why mess with it - too much trouble. Can't do anything they are too powerful - we should be happy that only 10% of our 401k's transactions are skimmed annually by the administrators. --Slamming, cramming, etc.. (Be happy something is done about the phone company rip offs. Even though the same scam is done at "regular" stores (Kroger, Walgreen, etc)by way of programed-in check out register "errors" (90% of the time in store's favor - fewer than 20% caught by customer)..Been going on for years, who cares. (Just like picking pockets, except when you get caught, you appologize, give back the stolen $$ and try, try again..) | ||||||||||||||||
